Transforming a Combined Condo Unit:
Simple Modern Family Living

The project is a combined condominium unit originally designed and utilized in the early 2000s. The new design was inspired by a modern minimalist approach leaning towards “Japandi” concepts that make use of simple white finishes with light wood accents.

The original divisions and partitions were replaced with built-up walls on metal framing. Original doors were repainted and new sliding doors were installed in place. Floor and wall tiles were replaced. New counters and cabinetry were fabricated and installed on site.

The challenge in renovation works within condominiums revolve around administrative restrictions- work hours, materials to be used, methods to be employed, etc. When we try to improve existing systems in place, it usually takes time to figure out what still works and what does not.
